A sunny day away at the picturesque Bayford & Hertford Cricket club led to an 84 run loss for a youthful Reed 3s.
After losing the toss, Reed went into the field with Josh Heslam (8-31-2), and Stanley Johnson (4-25-0) opening the attack. Bayford were largely untroubled, with Ollie Kimsey (8-40-0) and Lily Hall (4-28-1), replacing the openers.

Some wayward bowling helped the Bayford score along, until Lily Hall broke the opening stand, bowling one of the Bayford openers.
Reed bought on the experienced Lee Johnson (8-20-0) to steady the run rate, coupled with some tidy bowling from Matthew Barons (5-21-0).

The breakthrough came from an unexpected source, when captain Lloyd Bowman (3-30-2)took responsibility with two wickets with his first two balls - narrowly missing out on a hat-trick.

Josh Heslam came back for his second spell and continued his excellent bowling, taking 2 well-deserved late wickets. But Bayford accumulated a decent 203-5 after their 40 overs.

Dave Saunders (9) and Andy Kimsey (7), opened the batting for Reed, but both were dismissed early on by the lively Bayford opener Sadat.

Stanley Johnson (19) and Lee Johnson (33), then built a solid partnership to get Reed back on track but unfortunately once Stanley was dismissed, Reed then lost further wickets in quick succession (Josh Heslam and Matthew Barons both without scoring, Lloyd Bowman stuck around for 10, and keeper Maseeh Naeem made a quick fire 24 (despite taking a top edge to the face). Once he was dismissed, final pair of Oliver Kimsey (0 not out) and Lily Hall - unfortunately bowled first ball to leave Reed 84 runs short.
